My four year old son and I read it together and while I think he had a bit of a tougher time understanding the entirety of the lesson, he loved the pictures that clearly showed the girl’s emotional state of being. She was scared, nervous, happy, etc and he was able to recognize those moments with ease. The lesson is a great one as it can be used in all types of scenarios. I know that even as an adult I often overthink certain things that end up being something I never really needed to worry about. "This underwater story is full of bright and lively illustrations, capturing the imagination as you follow along with Pierre's deep sea exploration. While I had some overall issues with the rhyme scheme, there were some great lines too.
