It’s the age old question: what to watch once you’ve finished Off Campus? (OK, maybe not an age old question, but a serious one nonetheless!)

Have you also been obsessed with Off Campus over the last few weeks? I am not ashamed to say that I binged the full series on release day, and have already rewatched it. Plus my TikTok and Instagram feeds are full of edits. Just call me a Puck Bunny at this point! The adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s beloved Briar U novels has taken the internet by storm, perfectly capturing the high-stakes, high-chemistry world of college hockey, fake dating, and witty banter.

But if you, like me, have already binged all 8 episodes, you’re probably suffering from major withdrawal and wondering what to watch after the Off Campus series.

Don’t panic. The “sports romance” universe is massive, and the hockey subgenre is currently ruling both the fiction and streaming worlds. • Why? The Briar U universe is currently 13 books long (with book 14 out in November). There is plenty to keep you busy until Season 2!
• What to Read: Dive straight into the next books in the original series: The Mistake (John Logan’s story) and The Score (Dean Di Laurentis’s story). The there is the Briar U series following spin off characters, including Hunter Davenport! Once you finish those, move on to the next gen – pick up The Graham Effect , the first book in the Campus Diaries spinoff series, which features Garrett and Hannah’s daughter, Gigi Graham.

2. The Blueprint Book Series: Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid

Yeah, you’ve probably seen the series already (and if not, go watch it now!) If you loved the competitive drive on the ice mixed with undeniable sexual tension, you need to pick up this holy grail of MM hockey romance . It is an amazing six-book series.

• The Tropes: Enemies-to-lovers, secret relationships, and elite NHL drama.
• What It’s About: The story follows Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, two rival hockey prodigies who are constantly compared in the media. They are supposed to hate each other, but a hidden, years-long hookup arrangement slowly evolves into deep, high-stakes love. It is widely considered one of the best-written sports romance series of all time.

3. The Nostalgic Movie Binge: Ten Things I Hate About You (1999)

If you want a movie that feels like a previous iteration of Off Campus, you need to watch Ten Things I Hate About You. There may not be any hockey players, but Patrick is a spiritual ancestor of Garrett!

• What It’s About: Bianca isn’t allowed to go to prom, unless her older sister, Kat, does. So Cameron (who fancies Bianca) persuades resident bad boy Patrick to woo Kat.

4. Your Next Book Obsession: Off The Ice, Bal Khabra

If you love the college hockey team setting, then pick up Off The Ice, starting with Collide. This series follows hockey players on their way to going pro and their romantic relationships.

• The Tropes: grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, enemies to lovers
• Why you’ll love it: The series has a similar feel to Off Campus, in following multiple players on the same team, and we see them pop up in future books as well.

5. An Indie pick: Icebound, Meredith Trapp

If you would prefer a professional hockey romance featuring a more mature hero rather than the college guys, pick up Icebound. The male love interest is in his 30s and plays in the big leagues.

• The Vibes: Age gap, reformed bad boy, he falls first
• Why you’ll love it: Cross-stitching Cat Daddy. Need I say more? This book takes everything we love about college romances, but makes it adult. Perfect for us Millennial fans looking for our next contemporary romance.
