In August, Bookinfluencers.com proudly hosted a global book tour for talented author Simone Warren to celebrate the release of her memoir, The Fate We Make: Heartbreak. This coming-of-age story explores courage, resilience, and the journey toward happiness. Influencers from around the world joined the campaign, creating engaging content and helping share Simone’s story with new readers. Simone Warren:The author behind the pages

Simone Warren was born in Singapore in 1969. She is a third generation of Straits-born Chinese who migrated from China to ‘Si Lat Po’, a then British colony. She left Singapore for Britain in 1989 to study English and Drama at Westfield College and the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, University of London. While at University, she was President of the Creative Writing Society.

Simone is both a successful business woman, and an amazing author. For example, she has worked for global organisations including Siemens, BT, Alibaba and Microsoft, where she ran a multi-million-dollar Cloud Computing business.

Currently, she lives in Cambridgeshire, UK, with her husband and two grown-up children.

Today, Simone Warren talks about the writing journey of The Fate We Make: Heartbreak and the messages she hopes for readers to take away.

The first volume of this memoir is a remarkable, occasionally tragic, but ultimately redemptive coming-of-age story. Simone Warren recognized from an early age that she was caught between her family’s expectations and her need to find her own path and voice. Having been born into a Singaporean Chinese family and a life rooted in tradition, her story is a stunning tale of survival and an inspiring look at how we can learn to move beyond trauma to forge a path toward finding happiness.

Hi, Simone Warren, can you tell us what can readers expect from The Fate We Make?

A: The Fate We Make: Heartbreak, is an emotional roller coaster ride through a harrowing and eventful life. Furthermore, it is written in heartbreakingly honest prose, and shows that we can all survive and surpass even the most challenging circumstances to find love and happiness.

What inspired you to start writing, and how did you develop your passion for storytelling?

A: I have been reading books from the age of 6, as well as a major health crisis from years of bottling up mental health issues is what caused me to start writing. I developed my passion for storytelling by reading stories told by other inspiring authors. I remember listening to the stories recounted by my grandmother as I sat at her knee.

A Wave of Positive Response

Our collaboration with Simone generated great interest, and 45 content creators were chosen to read and promote the book on their social media platforms. Additionally, all the content creators prepared two beautiful posts to share with their community and spread the word. With a widely positive response, the book quickly became a favourite for many people.

The campaign started with a “buzz week” around the release day where all participants were invited to share a video or photo edit. This encouraged fellow readers to check out the title and add it to their to-be-read list.
